Okay, so this is going to be a major rant. I am so fed up with Walmart delivery. The system is so messed up in Pueblo, Colorado it is not even funny. I order from them all the time. I have problems all the time. My issue is that I hate large crowds, busy parking lots and well, standing in line.
I have had several issues with the services. There have been times where the drivers have an issue and suddenly it marks me as “requesting to cancel.” That would be great and all. But then it takes 10 DAYS!!! to get a refund. What the hell? Am I right?
I keep thinking about how there are actually people out there who use their last pennies to buy their groceries. I have a few times. Then you get this issue, get it cancelled without your permission, and have to wait ten days while your family starves? That is not an efficient or even proper way to run a business.
There are times when the store does not have enough drivers. Also, setting it up as “requesting to cancel.” How many times have you sat there yelling at your phone? Wondering, why the hell they would lie about you having requested a cancellation? It’s beyond annoying.
There was a time I had medicine in my order, puppy training pads for my disabled pup, and some small items. The cancellation doomed me. I literally had to hand the phone to my mother and wife and go cry. It was annoying. But after I cried the representative managed to make it so that the refund was instant.
How the hell did he do that? Why don’t they do that from the beginning? They used to.
Now let’s talk about SUBSTITUTIONS! Lord have mercy on our souls the world must be ending with how stupid these people are! I literally ordered dates in a tub. These are a very obvious item. If they are not in stock, you have to cancel it. Do you want to know what they substituted with?
Are you sitting down? Are you sure?
CHEESE DIP!!!
What the hell was that about? I get if you order things like my monster java drinks and they substitute for some nasty fruit flavored monster drink. Okay. Maybe, and I say this lightly MAYBE, that was an honest mistake. But cheese dip as a substitute for dates?
Let’s see. What else have they substituted?
Let’s talk about meat. I order the $9 packs of chicken legs for my dogs. It is a much healthier choice for them. But the $9 bag is 10 lbs. When most of the drivers substitute my chicken, they will try to substitute for the $5 packs that are 5 lbs. each. That’s okay. I get that. It costs a bit more, but is not that much of a difference.
My question comes when the next driver can substitute my 10 lb. bag of chicken legs (which is the amount I need) for two packs of 5 lb. chicken legs. When the person before them could not. If I order 12 bags (the maximum allowed per order) of the chicken legs, I am expecting 120 lbs. of chicken. If you substitute for the 5 lb. bags, I am only getting 60 lbs. of chicken. This would be easy enough except for that damn 10 DAY refund policy. And believe me, they take ALL TEN DAYS.
Some of the drivers ask in the back for the meat. Some say, “oops they do not have any.” As if Walmart is going to be out of chicken legs.
Let’s talk about steak meat! If you order a nice, beautiful piece of steak, like a sirloin or maybe a T-bone; logic says this is a specific type of meat. Right? So, who the hell taught these people to substitute for a chuck roast?!?!?
Okay so most people would say at this point, “if you do not like the way it comes, then go shop for yourself.” But here’s the list of reasons why this is a dumb statement.
- I am paying for a service. I am paying a fee, a tip, and then an extra fee for having fast delivery.
- Walmart is providing a service. They claim to know how to provide this service.
- IF you have a need for an item that you are paying for now, you should get it now. Or at least a reasonable substitute.
- Some people do not have access to drive to the store themselves. Others are disabled or have other concerns that make it hard for them. So, this service is supposed to help.
- The people working as drivers for Walmart, aka Spark Drivers, are trying to have a job. They want to provide a service and get paid for it. The store pays them to do this job.
- When you go to a food place, and they burn the food you do not just say “cook at home if you do not like it.” NO! Why not? Because that would be an idiotic statement. YOU paid good MONEY for a service. You expect it done right. You expect the store to have trained people to do the jobs they are assigned. Right? So, no! Walmart delivery is not the exception. We can expect what we pay for.
- The refunds take 10 days to process. Business days. That means weekends do not count.
- If you have a messed-up item, it still takes time to return. They do offer pickups now, but you still cannot get a replacement for the item now. You have to wait 10 days!!!
- People are always okay with certain things being mixed up, messed up, or substituted wrong. Sometimes you are ok if an item is missing, and you chat to get a refund. That is usually fairly easy. But we should not always be the one compromising.
- Time, money and energy level all account for why certain people buy delivery food, rather than going out themselves. Just like ordering cooked meals from restaurants. Would you not complain if you ordered Sesame Chicken and you got the fried duck instead?
Yea! That’s what I thought.
Anyway, life goes on, yada yada yada. But seriously people. We should be able to expect a little better from these services. Walmart never cares about the little guy. We are one in a billion people. They do not have to care or respect us. They do not have to understand our points of view. They have their cushy little jobs behind the scenes. But we should demand better. We should always demand better.
